Not all antlerless deer will have a fawn or fawns when you observe them in the hunting season. Most of the females 2.5 yrs and older will have fawns, but very few yearling females will have fawns (typically less than 15% will breed as fawns: puberty is related to their weight). Again, regardless of predators, only about half of the antlerless deer seen can even have fawns.

The Timber Rattlesnake (Crotalus horridus) is a native species to all six New England states, having colonized from the south as far as the White Mountains and Lake Champlain during a warm period following the glacial retreat. In Massachusetts, the Timber Rattlesnake was formerly widespread and locally abundant in Essex, Middlesex, Worcester, Suffolk, Norfolk, Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, and Berkshire Counties until the late-19th century.
Only one species of wildcat lives in Massachusetts as of 2011. The bobcat (Lynx rufus) lives throughout the state and exerts little impact on human society. Bobcats have short, bobbed tails, pointed ears and long fur extending from their cheeks. Upon reaching maturity, these medium-size wildcats weigh between 11 and 20 pounds and extend 30 to 48 inches from the tip of the nose to the end of the tail.
The new world record striped bass was caught on the night of August 4, 2011 in Connecticut waters. The striper was boated by Greg Myerson and weighed in at 81.88 pounds, which edges out the previous record of 78.8 pounds caught in 1982.
