The Mass Mass Audubon reports -We are thrilled to announce that the $2.6 million goal was met to protect the Sacred Hearts property! Thanks to our supporters, we were able to match the offers of competing prospective buyers, as required in the Right of First Refusal.

Our offer was officially accepted on February 14, and we are thrilled to be on our way to purchasing the 110 acres and opening up a 200+ acre sanctuary at Great Neck.

We are so grateful for the rapid support we received—almost 100 people stepped up and pledged their support for this effort, and we know the enthusiasm goes well beyond that number. Thank you!

We’ll keep you posted on the process! For now, we’re diving into the tasks involved with advancing our purchase of the property and beginning plans for the new and greatly improved Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary.
