Massachusetts deer harvest report shows record year in 2018

The preliminary statewide deer harvest for 2018 is 14,513 – a new record high. The preliminary harvest figures by season are as follows:
- Youth Deer Hunt Day (Sept. 29): 138
- Paraplegic Deer Hunt (Nov. 1–3): 3
- Archery Season (Zones 1-9: Oct. 15–Nov. 24 and Zones 10-14: Oct 1-Nov. 24): 5,190
- Shotgun Season (Nov. 26–Dec. 8): 6,495
- Primitive Firearms Season (Dec. 10–Dec. 31): 2,687

Zone 11 is packed with whitetail deer. Plenty of farms and people who tend food plots for them. Myself included.
