Conditions and location are more important Taunton River
Conditions and location I believe are more important than lure selection or choice of bait when fishing the Taunton River.Perfect conditions being…evening, mild, overcast, slight wind out of the southwest, top half of the incoming tide.Least favorable conditions being…middle of the day, bright ,sunny, cool, wind out of the north, low water.Combining any of the favorable conditions will greatly increase your chances.
Location, your going to have to do a bit of leg work here, but on an incoming tide look for where the depth suddenly decreases causing the speed of the current to increase, fish around this breakline till you find the hot spot, remember the fish are constantly on the move with changing water levels so casting around may keep you in contact with the fish.On an outgoing tide look for rips/rapids forming as the water level drops, fish seem to school up and can be really concentrated in these pockets.
Most types of lures will get noticed as long as you can get them to where the fish are.
Good luck
