Three timber rattlesnakes have been spotted in a neighborhood in Westfield in one week.

All of the snakes were found in residents’ yards. One homeowner said he went outside and spotted a snake eating a bird.

The homeowners called a trained state biologist to remove the snakes and take them to a more appropriate home.

Timber rattlers are on the endangered species list.Experts urged residents not to try to get rid of them on their own.
